For EU nationals, the UK Permanent Residence Status Automation Roll Out is now available!

The Home Office has put forward modifications to the UK's EU Settlement Scheme to move as many pre-settled status holders to settled status without requiring them to submit new applications.

Pre-settled status holders don’t need to wait to be converted to settled status. They can still apply for it as soon as they are eligible to apply. The introduction of this automated process will not prevent people from making an application to the UK Home Office.

We note that the Home Office usually run automated checks (which have always been used to validate eligibility under the scheme) against accessible government data to determine eligibility for settled status. If a pre-settled status holder passes these checks, they will be granted settled status, and their digital status will be modified automatically.

If the Home Office does not have enough data to confirm eligibility for an automatic grant of settled status, they will be contacted and told of the next processes, as well as the need of continuing to meet the requirements of their status.

We continue to be aware that certain eligible nationals have not passed the UK Home Office's automated tests for the grant of permanent settlement because of erroneous information stored in a third-party database.
